Days pass, malms tread, the tale grows
Eyes gleam 'round the fireAkito traces his heritage back to old Sharlayan. Tales passed down from generation to generation say that his family was one of the original group saved by Nunkrepf Nunkrepfsyn. Throughout the generations his family served as librarians, they reveled in collecting and sharing books and the knowledge held within.This long-lasting tradition was broken by his grandfather, who became a ferryman. Akito’s extended family hated his grandfather for this, claiming that he was a stain on their otherwise pristine reputation. But Akito adored his grandfather and enthusiastically recalls the many stories his grandfather shared with him under the night stars by a warm campfire.His grandfather claimed that the rest of the family knew very little and that in fact most knowledge was unknown to all. No library could contain all of it because knowledge is a living thing. Like the river that is always there, at all times the same, and yet new in every moment. Knowledge is gained through lived experiences and best shared from lips to ears.His grandfather told him that if he was to be a wise man, Akito should travel the world and experience all that he can and listen to the stories of those he meets along the way. Akito took his grandfather’s advice and set out for Eorzea to gather and share as much knowledge as possible. Soon after arriving he found the STAR museum where he met many kindred spirits who longed to experience everything this world has to offer. Now you can find him there, out under the night stars by a warm campfire, sharing the stories of his journeys.
